h4. What is Galicaster CUBE-2 ?

Galicaster CUBE-2 (GaliCUBE-2) is a mobile multistream recording station designed for mobile operations.

At first glance Cube2 main characteristic is its *case-integrated 15" tactile widescreen* and a wireless keyboard and touchscreen, minimizing wiring. All together, Cube2 provides mobility and a quick set up with minimun wiring, thus symplifing installation and *reducing the space and time needed for setting up the recording station*.

From a hardware point of view, it is a powerful unit based on Intel's Core i7, with a extremely silent box and power supply and a computer based on heavy duty components.

Teltek's Galicaster Cube2 has [Galicaster 1.3.0|Galicaster:Download Galicaster] pre-installed, tested and ready to run with the assembled capturing hardware.

Galicaster Cube2 is meant for mobile offline operations providing human control over the recordings. However it can be connected to an Opencast Matterhorn server, receiving schedules and uploading recordings automatically or manually, minimizing the time between recording and publishing.

Galicaster Cube2 also features a repository with all the recorded media, with a comprehensive set of operations to manage the collection: sorting old recordings, deleting many recordings in a single operation, adding information to the recordings, etc.

Galicaster allows you to choose the encoding and bitrate of each of your streams - typically 2 videos and 1 audio - giving the option of creating light files ready to be published without further processing.


Teltek's units are configured to activate a secure network channel to provide immediate remote support.

h4. Cube2 use cases

Galicaster Cube2 is commonly used on mobile operations. Having the computer and the screen integrated allows you to move the unit to the right location, prepare the wiring easily and be ready to test and record in a few minutes.

Together with a OnWheels kit *LINK*, you can transport your unit and the auxiliary hardware ( camera, tripod, wiring, audio mixer ...) in and protected wheeled case, safe from damage and all in one bundle.

However, if needed, Galicaster Cube2 can assume the role of a fix recording station on a classroom, a MOOC studio or a conference hall.

Galicaster units can capture multiple video formats and combine different audivisual sources, even several combinations on the same unit. For simplicity we include the usual camera+slides capture combinations, including:

* Slides: VGA/DVI/HDMI framegrabber, capturable resolutions includes Full HD.
* Audio can be embedded on the SD stream.
