At first glance, CUBE2 has an 15" tactile widescreen integrated in the case which provides mobility and a quick set up. A wireless keyboard and touchpad may be included with the unit, and the screen is powered through the computer, thus symplifing wiring and installation, reducing the space and time needed for setting up the recording station.

From a hardware point of view, it is a powerful unit based on Intel's Core i7 CPU, with a extremely silent box and power supply and based on heavy duty components.
Although Galicaster CUBE2 is meant for mobile offline operations, it can be connected to a Opencast Matterhorn server, receiving schedules and sending recordings for processing and publishing just after the recording, thus minimizing the time between recording and publication and improving the automatization off the system. The upload of recordings can be made immediatelly after a recording or later, when the unit is connected to a network.

It is *adaptable to many video devices* from USB webcams to profesional  cameras. It also captures synchronously from VGA sources (presenter laptop, for instance) and audio sources such as players and microphones. Galicaster CUBE2 will walk you through the identification and selection of such devices.
